The Signs of Aging: Three Ways to Prevent It for Your Mind, Body and Spirit
One universal fear that the majority of people on this earth share is the fear of aging. It is an indisputable fact that we are all aging each and every day. It is also undeniable that we are aging in mind, body and spirit. While it is true that every day we get older, we do not have to let it show. That’s why this article provides three ways to prevent the signs of aging for the mind, body and spirit.
The mind is first on the list for age prevention. After all, without the mind, what else is there? One of the first signs of the aging of the mind has to do with memory loss. The best thing to do is to start taking vitamins for memory before the signs even arise. Memory vitamins can be purchased at any health food or vitamin store and they are relatively inexpensive. Typically they include B Vitamins, Antioxidants and even Omega-3 Fatty Acids.
The body is something that is guaranteed to show signs of aging sooner rather than later if not taken care of. Wrinkles, sun spots and moles all show up on the skin as a result of the harsh effects of the sun. While it is considered stylish to sport sun-tanned skin, it’s not stylish to wear the long-lasting, damaging effects of the skin after your tan has since faded. Sunscreen is absolutely vital for protecting the skin from premature aging. Those that can avoid as much sun exposure as possible are those who will look much younger for far longer periods of time.
The truth of the matter is that your spirit is as young as you want it to be.
A spirit can only age when the person allows themselves to sit back and be complacent with life. Those who want to keep a youthful spirit must strive to do youthful activities, regardless of their age. Making sure to smile and laugh as often as occasion provides; it’s a great way to keep a youthful spirit. Being as active as possible will not only help physically, but it will help your spirit to maintain its youth as well.
So there it is. Your mind can be kept sharp by investing in memory vitamins as a preventative measure. Your skin can keep its youthful glow and smooth appearance if protected from the sun. Your spirit can maintain its youth if given free rein to joy in laughter at all possible moments. Indeed, there are several ways to prevent the signs of aging for anyone’s mind, body and spirit. Those listed here should be just the beginning of your quest for continued youth.

I enjoyed this article very much, especially the part where you talk about smiling and laughing. I have experience the benefits of laughter. I think smiling and laughing are often overlooked as important exercises for the brain and body.
I also think it is very important to keep exercising. This is something I always have to work at since most of time is spent as the computer.
Thanks for this important article:~)
@Sara – I laugh unabashedly every day. As a matter of fact, people at work say they always know where to locate me on the floor, because they simply listen for my laugh. Man, laughing feels GOOD!
I do have to admit that I am currently out of balance in the Mind, Body, Spirit department.Too much Mind and not enough Body and Spirit. I have to do something about that.
Thank you! Beautiful newsletter and great post.
This reminds me of something I saw just the other day when I was reviewing some transcripts of Eckhart Tolle (when he did his multi-week online web event with Oprah.)
He said “If you do not accumulate a lot of past inside your psyche by hanging on to past, identifying with the past, deriving your sense of self from the past, talking about the past, thinking about the past, then you carry
this burden of past. But if you let go of that past and focus primarily on present moment, then the aging process—I believe that, and I’ve seen it in some people who are present—the aging process of the body
actually slows down considerably.”
Ah, and therein lies the rub!
But seriously, this makes a lot of sense to me so I wanted to share. Another thing to add to our bag of tricks.
@Patti – and thank you! I totally agree with Eckhart Tolle on this. I look back upon the recent past, reflect, see if I need to adjust anything, and then move on. The past past, well, that is just old news and does not interest me. It’s a very unscientific study on my part, but I have observed that people clinging to the past appear much older than those living in the now. Ironic since quite a number of these people are always trying to cling to youth. Thank you for sharing this , Patti.
“Making sure to smile and laugh as often as occasion provides.” YES! I was shocked to read in a recent blog post that some older women are afraid to smile because it shows their laugh lines. Smiling is so beautiful.
@Vered – oh no! Really? No wrinkles on their faces that way, but serious wrinkles in their auras. Sigh. Smiling is so incredibly beautiful. I was at a wedding last night, I watched as people caught each other’s eyes and burst into huge smiles. Even people who had never met. The energy in the room was incredible.
