Woman Who Makes a Difference: Barbara Barth

This is the opening paragraph from Barbara Barth’s contribution to Women Who Make a Difference:

What Do I Make?

I’ve made a new life after my old one crumbled. My husband died three years ago, just as I turned sixty. I took that loss and made a new path for myself. I take others on my journey down many new roads in my book, The Unfaithful Widow. I make them see you can find your way again by being brave, opening to the universe, and learning to laugh at yourself as you stumble, get up, and move forward again.

Powerful stuff, eh?

I met Barbara when I was asked to review The Unfaithful Widow. I have reviewed many books for Silver & Grace, but every once in awhile the author and I really click and we become friends.

Barbara is this week’s Woman Who Makes a Difference and I am honoured to be her friend. This woman is a dynamo! She turned the grief of losing a husband into a poignant yet funny book, supports dog rescue efforts, and has opened multiple stores in her home town supporting the arts and other community efforts.

She is the epitome of the Silver & Grace woman. Fun, sexy, intelligent and real. Emphasis on the sexy. In her sixties, Barbara is not afraid to speak up and debunk the myth that your sex life is over at fifty. As you will see in her Silver & Grace article on November 16, she is open, not to mention funny as heck, about the fact that her sex life is not slowing down.

I encourage you to get to know Barbara. You will love her. She is very easy to find:
